It is always a good feeling to be a part of something ground breaking. The global wine community is certainly no exception. Adobe Road Winery is extremely honored to have been selected to join Wine Spectator’s ultra-exclusive New York Wine Experience, October 19-21 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York City. This three-day event is a spectacular showcase of more than 250 of the world’s most unique and notable wine producers. Each producer has been rated 90+ by Wine Spectator’s board of editors and awarded a Critics’ Choice Award. Guided by the estate owners and winemakers themselves, this occasion provides attendees with possibly the most comprehensive wine tasting experience possible. Each attendee will have a chance to sample all of the featured wines, as well as meet the winery owners and winemakers. The event is enhanced with educational wine seminars, food pairings designed by distinguished chefs, and a black tie gala of the wine world’s most prestigious producers.
Owner Kevin Buckler and national sales manager, Sonny Martin, will pour the 2013 Adobe Road Napa Valley Beckstoffer Georges III Block-A Cabernet Sauvignon, which Wine Spectator awarded a stunning 94 points. Kevin and Sonny will also acquaint patrons with the award winning boutique brand and the exciting new winery project being developed and based at the gateway to California Wine Country in Petaluma. Adobe Road sources the very best grapes from Napa and Sonoma counties, producing a wide variety of single-vineyard sources and blended wines that are being recognized at the highest levels.
This credibility greatly enhances the already respected Adobe Road brand and shines even more attention on the Petaluma development project, which will see the winery expand to a new 15,000 square foot facility, anchoring the city’s downtown waterfront development. This new industry-leading complex will include the winery, tasting room, event space, outdoor entertainment area, multiple private VIP and corporate areas as well as a rotating multi-brand motorsports museum, carrying forward the legacy that has been achieved by Adobe Road’s sister company, The Racers Group.

Adobe Road is in many ways a luxury brand, which is not surprising given TRG’s affiliations with Porsche, Aston Martin, and Lamborghini. A long-awaited proposal for a state-of-the-art downtown Petaluma winery, tasting room and auto racing museum is gaining momentum, according to Adobe Road Winery’s CEO.
The new AVA includes about 80 winegrowers and nine wineries. One of our favorite wines released this year is an example of the quality of Pinot Noir grapes grown in the region—75 percent of the fruit planted is Pinot Noir—and the range of complexity that’s possible from multiple-elevation harvesting.

The federal government on Thursday recognized the Petaluma Gap as the newest American Viticultural Area (AVA), giving Sonoma County its 18th such wine appellation and providing another reminder of its vast diversity of grape growing throughout the region.

At the Adobe Road tasting room in downtown Petaluma, I’m told that Buckler values the slow and steady process of making wine. Downtown Petaluma keeps getting hotter, and the hip-factor will only increase when Adobe Road opens their new 15,000 square foot winery and tasting room along the Petaluma River. And it's going to be more than just a winery - they'll have a motorsports museum (Adobe Road owner Kevin Buckler owns one of the most successful racing teams in the world), an event center and commercial kitchen. Guests can sip wine by the bottle, served alongside wood-fired pizza, on the riverfront patio.

Dozens of people gathered on Tuesday to raise their glass to Petaluma’s newest wine tasting room, a venue for home-grown Adobe Road Winery to gain more face time with the public as it moves toward building a nearby hub for wining and dining on the edge ofthe Petaluma River.
The Petaluma Planning Commission voted swiftly and unanimously on Tuesday to approve a permit for Adobe Road Winery’s tasting room at The Great Petaluma Mill, 6 Petaluma Blvd. North. It will be downtown Petaluma’s second wine tasting room, and the first serving a wide variety of wines.

Garrett Martin of Adobe Road Winery summed up their lot of 10 cases as “Petaluma Gap in a glass.” The Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley represented all generations of Dry Creek by combining equal amounts of zinfandel from seven wineries, half who are the original producers in the region and the other half are newer producers of Zinfandel.
