Adobe Road Winery onboard for Wine Spectator’s Grand Tour - Leaves lasting impressions in three major cities
After fifteen years of hard work and commitment, Adobe Road Winery is on a roll, receiving much-deserved accolades and recognition. The three city Wine Spectator Grand Tour we recently traveled with brought that to a whole new level. Las Vegas, Chicago, and Miami all in less than a week and at every stop Adobe Road Winery was the standout!
The Grand Tour is an invitation-only event hosted by the Wine Spectator, showcasing the world's top rated wineries. Adobe Road was humbled to have so many excited patrons biding our long lines for a taste of some of California's most renowned, handcrafted wines. Our small winery seemed to steal the show as so many guests visited our booth, again and again. It was common for patrons to return with a friend, encouraging them to taste these cultivated masterpieces. Adobe Road Winery Cabernet Sauvignon, Beckstoffer Vineyards, Georges III, Block A-1, was the unsung "top wine of the tour” many attendees declared.
Winemaker Garrett Martin joined the tour in Las Vegas, enhancing the experience even more. He too was confounded by all of the praise bestowed upon what he had helped craft. In Chicago, one of our good friends and partner of The Racers Group team came to support our esteemed winery brand. She left the event overwhelmingly impressed with the response to this year's extraordinary releases.
Miami was the final stop of The Grand Tour and perhaps the most exciting. Owner Kevin Buckler, broke away from the hectic schedule of his sportscar racing team to attend the final event in this series of spectacular tastings. "You could feel the energy enhanced at this event," said National Sales Director, Sonny Martin, observing the heightened engagement around Buckler's appearance.
The recent Wine Spectator, Beckstoffer cover story prominently featuring our small winery, the latest Robert Parker accolades, and the mounting excitement around the new Petaluma riverfront winery have quickly turned Adobe Road Winery into the "rock stars" of the wine world. Exciting times!
Adobe Road is proud of its continual success in the industry, but this year has been our most awarded ever. After both the Wine Spectator and the Wine Advocate graced us with 90+ point scores on our 2013 Apex, 2013 Knights Valley, Bavarian Lion Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, 2014 Chardonnay, 2013 Syrah, and 2014 Zinfandel, we are now ecstatic to announce that our 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III-A1 Block was awarded a 94 point rating in the most recent issue of the prestigious wine publication, Wine Spectator Insider.
It should come as no surprise that like many of our other wines this bold Napa Cabernet was a labor of pure love, put into a bottle. Here at Adobe Road we know that quality farming, precision winemaking, and stylistic vision all add up to a fantastic bottle of wine! When those efforts are noticed we are always gratified and humbled. Thank you to the Wine Spectator for noticing all of our fantastic wines – more to come in the near future!
These highly revered wines have been seeing exceptional demand. Don’t hesitate to buy any combination of these award winning, limited production vintages before they are sold out.
Senior Editor James Laube wrote of the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III-A1...
“Amazingly sleek and refined, with a pure, rich, juicy core of blackberry, raspberry, anise, cedar and black licorice flavors. Walks a tightrope between intensity and grace, finesse and authority. Long and persistent on the aftertaste. Drink now through 2032.”
Adobe Road Winery Proudly Opens Doors to New Petaluma Tasting Room: Town Shows Tremendous Support for their Hometown Winery
The much talked about Grand Opening of Adobe Road Winery’s new tasting room venue in the heart of downtown Petaluma, was a resounding success. Distinguished guests from local government including Mayor David Glass, Vice Mayor Dave King and the rest of the Council as well as dignitaries from the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce were among the crowd. Soulful jazz performed by Peter Welker’s sextet was heard playing throughout the historic downtown scene while visitors enjoyed delicious eats from Wild Goat bistro, paired heavenly with some of Adobe Road’s newest wines. Legendary sister company, The Racer’s Group displayed some of their awe inspiring Aston Martin race cars, which drew in passerbys to the classy event. Club members and new friends alike expressed their appreciation and excitement around Adobe Road finding its new tasting room home in this trending wine country river town.
Guests were also given sneak peeks into the much talked about new facility being built just blocks away. Architectural floor plans were on display for everyone to get a closer look at the amazing things still to come for this thriving home town winery.
Thank you to everyone that supported us in our move, and to all that joined us for this momentous celebration. We couldn't be happier to be where we are, and can’t wait to show you what’s coming!
Zin-Fully Delicious: 2014 Kemp Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley, Zinfandel awarded 90 points in Wine Spectator
When it rains, it pours...Adobe Road is proudly accepting its third 90+ point score in only a matter of months. We are very proud of this Zinfandel and honored to share it with you, our Adobe Road family!
The 2014 Kemp Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel was born in a warm growing season perfect for ripening Zin on the steeply trellised, amphitheater-shaped vineyard hillside. Favorable weather conditions and careful winemaking let the character of this vineyard shine and gain complexity over a year of barrel aging.
While this Zin will age gracefully in your cellar, it won’t last long in our stock! Be sure to order by the case or join the wine club to get our “inside track” pricing!
California Syrah has had a roller coaster relationship as a consumer favorite wine over the last three decades and is currently rising in favor again. The key, it seems, has been selecting the right growing location to make wine of character and depth as, like Pinot Noir, it reflects the terroir.
Our Adobe Road Winery Syrah, from the Kemp Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, has been one of our most consistently awarded wines, receiving scores of 90 to 93 in the vintages of 2005, 2007, 2009 and, now again, for the current release 2013. Clearly, this is the right terroir to source our small lot, handcrafted Syrah and we invite you to try it for yourself.
The current day, high-quality Syrahs are displacing some Cabernets as a high-end choice for consumers both at home and in the restaurant. The quality and depth of these wines is amazing but the price tag won’t break the bank. Tim Fish of Wine Spectator wrote: “90 Points - Has a smoky, meaty personality, with jammy but focused flavors and accents of blueberry, huckleberry, mineral and grilled herbs. Drink now through 2028. 113 cases made.”
Another one of our consistently awarded wines the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon from Bavarian Lion Vineyard in Knight’s Valley continues racking up the awards with a 90 point score from Robert Parker, a Gold Medal from the San Francisco International Wine Competition and a Feature Article in the Wine Spectator as one of the “9 Enticing California Cabernets." As a tasting room favorite and with only 387 cases made it will be going to Library wine status before long so, with the holidays just around the corner, don’t hesitate to stock up now.
We feel fortunate to live and work in Northern California wine country where we have the privilege to make incredible wines. We are even more fortunate and grateful for your support along the way. Thank you for being part of our family; we couldn’t do it without you!
Adobe Road Winery selected to participate in ultra-exclusive Wine Spectator New York Wine Experience
It is always a good feeling to be a part of something amazing. The global wine community is certainly no exception. Adobe Road Winery is extremely honored to have been asked to take part in Wine Spectator’s ultra-exclusive New York Wine Experience. This three day event is a spectacular showcase of more than 200 of the world’s most unique and notable wine producers. Guided by the estate owners and winemakers themselves, this occasion provides attendees with possibly the most comprehensive wine tasting platform in the world. The festival is enhanced with educational wine seminars, food pairings designed by distinguished chefs, and a black tie gala of the wine industry's most prestigious producers.
The event takes place October 20 - 22 in New York City. Adobe Road Winery owner Kevin Buckler and winemaker Garrett Martin will be in attendance to enlighten patrons to the amazing wines being produced from our small boutique winery in California. Once again, Adobe Road’s hard work and success is being recognized at the highest levels. This credibility will greatly enhance our already respected brand and bring even more attention to our exciting new Petaluma project (see below) as development continues. For those fortunate to partake in this unique experience, please take the time to stop by and say hello. We always love to see our fans, friends, and Adobe Road family out on the road.
Adobe Road is amongst some Chardonnay stalwarts having received a notable 90 point rating from Wine Spectator for its recently released 2014 Russian River Valley, Baciagalupi Vineyard Chardonnay. Its long awaited return enamored critics with its unctuous caramel and vanilla bean notes, its balanced stone fruit palate, and elegant minerality. It comes as no surprise to wine maker Garrett Martin, and owners Kevin and Debra Buckler, that this bold and delicious white won over judges. As with all of our wines, the care, time and attention put into this rich beauty paid off in spades when the judges tasted it. Our fans have been clamoring for us to produce another award winning Chardonnay, and the wait is over. With holidays quickly approaching and high demand, this is a stunning wine that will be enjoyed by one and all this season. Order now before the supply is gone.
