Kemp Vineyard is one of the most unique vineyard sites in all of Dry Creek Valley. Perfect sun exposure, high elevation, steep rocky slopes, and overnight fog make for wonderfully complex and rich wines. As a result, the 2013 Syrah has very savory aromatics marked by Christmas spice and violets. Dark fruits show more prominently on the palate and are accompanied by dried herbs and balanced with vanilla, clove, and allspice. The medium tannins on the back end are graceful and subtle, the result of aging in French Oak for 24 months. Drink now through 2030.
90 Points - Has a smoky, meaty personality, with jammy but focused flavors and accents of blueberry, huckleberry, mineral and grilled herb. Drink now through 2028. 113 cases made. –Tim Fish, Senior Editor, Napa for The Wine Spectator
