2015 Pinot Noir
With our 2015 Pinot Noir we chose to “go local” and source grapes from an incredibly famous vineyard right in our backyard! The Sangiacomo family has been farming in and around the town of Sonoma since the early 1900s. Needless to say, they know how to grow high-quality grapes in our windy, coastal-influenced climate. The Roberts Road Vineyard is just up the road and around the corner from the winery in the heart of the Petaluma Gap AVA. We sourced three different clones of Pinot Noir from the vineyard to add complexity to the blend: Pommard gives fresh raspberry and backbone; clone 115 lends a floral aromatic and juicy structure; clone 777 adds a spicy, deep richness. All three clones were fermented together, then barreled down and aged on lees for one year to add a creamy smoothness to the wine.
