Our 2015 Famighetti Vineyard Viognier is the new name for one of our long-standing vineyard sources. Previously known as Kemp, this vineyard came into new ownership in 2015 by Mark and Sheila Farmer. They have continued the high quality level of farming we have come to know and love from this steeply terraced vineyard in the warm hills of Dry Creek Valley AVA. This Viognier is a perfect example of that quality. The grapes were whole cluster pressed and fermented in small stainless steel barrels to preserve aromatic freshness. After fermentation the wine was aged in neutral French oak barrels to add complexity and smoothness. Tropical and spice aromas in the glass follow through into the mid-palate. The tropical fruit flavors are balanced by a firm acidity, making this wine my go-to pairing for sushi and lighter fare.
