2018 Blue Dog Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Note
Blue Dog comes bounding out of the glass with loads of fresh blackberries, black plumbs, and warm strawberry compote.  Silky tannins frame the anise and ripe fig complexities on the decadently layered palate, with a black pepper spice on the long finish.  From front to back this wine feels luxurious.

Winemaking notes

Blue Dog is one of our favorites because we only make it in special years where the blend of Cabernet tastes just right.  This wine is about a unique combination of Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards that celebrates the variety across the distinct growing regions of Sonoma and Napa.  The framework of dark cherries and plush texture comes from Sonoma, while Napa gives finesse, polish, and black fruits.  A unique wine, from a very special year!

2018 vintage

2018 vintage allowed for picking at the perfect moment across the Napa and Sonoma vineyards that comprise this Cabernet.  Moderate weather lead to perfectly ripe grapes and as always, the quality work of our vineyard partners set the stage for incredible wines to be made!
