2019 Pinot Noir, Oregon
This Pinot Noir is exciting because it represents the best of two worlds. Oregon depth and savory character combine seamlessly with California winemaking style of richly layered, intensely complex, fruit-driven Pinot. This really is a wine with dual citizenship.
Tasting Notes: Dark Ruby in the glass, the nose carries baskets of black cherries. Ripe melon, violets, and black tea leaves support the mix of fruit and savory characteristics that make this wine compelling. Medium tannins and a fresh juicy acidity keep it riding high on the palate.
The Vintage: 2019 in Southern Oregon was beautiful and temperate for most of the growing season. September cool weather and rains made for an exciting run up to harvest. By early October, the vineyard dried out and warmed, making a perfect picking window.
