Adobe Road Winery Proudly Opens Doors to New Petaluma Tasting Room: Town Shows Tremendous Support for their Hometown Winery

The much talked about Grand Opening of Adobe Road Winery’s new tasting room venue in the heart of downtown Petaluma, was a resounding success. Distinguished guests from local government including Mayor David Glass, Vice Mayor Dave King and the rest of the Council as well as dignitaries from the Petaluma Chamber of Commerce were among the crowd. Soulful jazz performed by Peter Welker’s sextet was heard playing throughout the historic downtown scene while visitors enjoyed delicious eats from Wild Goat bistro, paired heavenly with some of Adobe Road’s newest wines. Legendary sister company, The Racer’s Group displayed some of their awe inspiring Aston Martin race cars, which drew in passerbys to the classy event. Club members and new friends alike expressed their appreciation and excitement around Adobe Road finding its new tasting room home in this trending wine country river town.

Guests were also given sneak peeks into the much talked about new facility being built just blocks away. Architectural floor plans were on display for everyone to get a closer look at the amazing things still to come for this thriving home town winery. 

Thank you to everyone that supported us in our move, and to all that joined us for this momentous celebration. We couldn't be happier to be where we are, and can’t wait to show you what’s coming!

Petaluma Gap Is Wine Country’s Newest AVA
The newly designated region is known for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines.

The new AVA includes about 80 winegrowers and nine wineries. Adobe Road Winery Facility: Progress Report

We are eager and excited to open the doors of our new satellite Tasting Room in the Great Petaluma Mill, in the very heart of Historic Downtown Petaluma. Garrett Martin of Adobe Road Winery summed up their lot of 10 cases as “Petaluma Gap in a glass.” The Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley represented all generations of Dry Creek by combining equal amounts of zinfandel from seven wineries, half who are the original producers in the region and the other half are newer producers of Zinfandel.

Petaluma leads Sonoma County in economic development

His decision was one example of many in recent years that have made Petaluma the leader in economic development in Sonoma County. It has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the county — 4.1 percent in March — and the second highest median household income, at $75,655 in 2015.
The business activity has rapidly reversed the fortunes of this city of almost 60,000, which was hit with a one-two punch at the turn of the millennium — fallout from the telecom bust of the early 2000s and the real estate crash some six years later. At its low point, commercial office vacancy rates were 40 percent.
